Artificial Intelligence (AI)
What is Exactly Artificial Intelligence (AI)
We are now living in a world that is completely filled with technology. Technology changed our lives enormously and without technology we cannot think of living with ease. There are many real life examples of technology we are using in our daily life such as Smartphone, TV, POS machine, printer, computer, vending machine and many more.
The next big thing in this technological era is artificial intelligence (AI) which will change the thinking of scientists and engineers. I know many of you have heard this technological term artificial intelligence a lot. Artificial intelligence (AI) is now in use vastly. From Smartphone to toothbrush you will find AI. It is changing the limits of technology with its problem solving skills.
Let’s know the meaning of artificial intelligence which is now a buzzword around the world. It is a part of computer science and technology that creates machines which are capable of doing certain works intelligently as human do. It is replacing many humans in some works which was done by human before AI. It is not exactly replacing humans, it is just making our life easier by helping us. Some of the AI machines are now can perceive from the environment to solve specific problems like we human do. Ai is making our life much easier than we ever thought. There are lots of AI research is going on to develop it more and more which will help humans in many ways.
How Artificial Intelligence Works?
Firstly an AI machine perceives from the environment then it analyses the data then it gives results. Perceiving means it take lots of data and then by some intelligent algorithms it processes the data that are set by the engineers. After processing the data it gives us the results we expect. The more data it gets the more it learns so that it can deliver the best result like a human can.
Here are the basic components of Artificial Intelligence (AI) –
Learning
Reasoning
Problem-solving
Perception and
Understanding language
History of Artificial Intelligence?
The term ‘Artificial Intelligence’ was first used by and American computer scientist John McCarthy in 1956 in a conference Dartmouth Conference. Though, first AI machine was created by a British computer scientist Alan Turing during the World War II. He created the machine to solve the ‘Enigma’ code that was used by the German forces to deliver messages safely. From then to now AI is developed enormously. There are many real life applications of AI such as Apple’s Siri, Google’s virtual assistant, Microsoft window’s Cortana and many more.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Automation
You can’t think of automation without AI. Nowadays, AI and automation are changing businesses by contributing to the economy. Both these technology is transforming our homes and workplaces incredible. By automation design and using AI we can ease our work greatly. With automation and AI we can get many of our work done by the machines without spending lots of time. Both these technology is not only doing our tasks easily but also saving our precious time.
The combination of automation and artificial intelligence is reducing human efforts. This combo of AI and automation is known as Automation Continuum.
Important Components of AI in Automation
Natural Language Processing (NLP): To recognise human voice and also the text input NLP is used as AI. Google Assistant is the real life example of NLP.
Machine Vision: It is used to recognise visual input such as face recognition.
Machine Learning (ML): It helps the machine to experience from the given data so that it can make own decisions.
